Does NiHao need an internet connection?

All core tools — phrases, menu decoder, allergy cards, metro maps, SOS info, senior mode — work fully offline. Internet is only needed for external links (e.g., opening ChatGPT prompt templates in your browser).

Does the app collect my personal data?

No. NiHao does not collect, store, or share any personal data. There is no account, no login, and no tracking. See our Privacy Policy.

The ChatGPT prompts don't open / ChatGPT is blocked in China

The AI prompt templates are designed for trip planning before you arrive. Inside mainland China, ChatGPT may not be accessible — use the built-in offline tools instead, which cover everything you need on the ground.

Which languages are supported?

15 languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Korean, Japanese, and Turkish — with Chinese translations always shown alongside.
